Oklahoma Vision Development Center's Rehabilitation program is for adults who have suffered some type of brain injury such as a stroke or head trauma. The therapy activities vary depending on the type and severity of symptoms you are experiencing.
Common symptoms after a traumatic brain injury include:
Double Vision
Loss of peripheral vision
Visual spatial disorder
Convergence Insufficiency/Convergence Excess
Eye tracking
Motor and speech difficulties
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above we recommend coming in for an evalutaion. The evaluation will consist of a visual field and an in-depth look at your eye health and visual system.
Our Programs
We have two types of programs for someone who has experienced a traumatic brain injury. The two programs are our Home-based Rehabilitation and our Visual-Sensory Program.
Home-Based Rehabilitation
Includes home syntonic light therapy (20 sessions last 20 minutes)
Software program to be used 5 times/week for 20 minutes
Follow up evaluations with visual fields and the therapist and doctor as needed every month
Visual-Sensory Program
12 one hour sessions over 6 weeks
Includes use of home syntonic light therapy
Includes home software for use after the light therapy
Monthly progress evaluations with visual fields and doctor's evaluation
